Her Name is Esther

my sister charlotte,
 mom & me
My mom called me today.  We haven’t spoken in months.  We haven’t spent time together in probably years.  I’m not proud of it.  It breaks my heart.  It’s a long story.  One that won’t be repeated.  It’s not necessary.  I long to have a relationship with her.  It’s hard to be separated from family.  It’s hard to have a strain in relationships.  She called to tell me that she’s having surgery on Thursday.  It was a good conversation, I think.  I usually have to pray during our conversations, but I imagine my own daughters have to do that sometimes too!
She has a long history of health problems.  It runs in her family.  She is the youngest of many (12 if I remember right) siblings, but only about 4 remain.  They’ve all suffered from some of the same health issues.  She also called to tell me she loves me.  It was nice to hear from her.  I do hope we can begin to repair what has been broken.  Restore what has been stolen.  Our pastor preached a sermon this past Sunday on relationships.  Check it out here.  The bottom line….Christ wants us to have healthy, growing & loving relationships.
She’s had a rough way to go.  Please pray for her.  Her name is Esther.
