Isn’t our God just so good? I’m so thankful for His consistency. For His care. Even in the small things. I love how He speaks to us in those little details of everyday.
What seems like months ago now, I was sitting at McDonald’s with some friends from church one Friday morning enjoying some coffee & good fellowship. As I was preparing to leave, the mindless habit of reaching & fumbling with my necklace brought on a panic that soon resulted in a desperate search for a lost treasure. And a very sick feeling rising from the pit of my stomach threatening to reveal it’s presence to my friends in the form of sobbing.
After pleading in prayer while desperately searching in the general area and alerting the manager to my loss in hopes of some kind honest soul finding my lost treasure & turning it in, I resigned to the fact that this precious gift I received from my husband several Christmases ago would never grace itself around my neck again.
Even though on that day I knew it was lost forever, it took me several weeks or months (I can’t even remember now) to stop praying for my treasure to find me and accept that it was never going to be found….until today! I was digging to the bottom of my purse searching for something else and felt something odd. As I pulled my hand out I was shocked to discover my lost treasure! How can this be? It must have fallen right into my purse when it broke. I’d been carrying it around with me all this time. Wow. Now that’ll preach! (I often say this about these everyday moments.) I’ll leave that to the professionals 🙂
I rejoiced. I sent pictures to my husband, family & my friends wanting them to rejoice with me….and they did! It reminds me of the parable of the woman with the lost coin. It reminds me of how much God cares about lost things. Lost people.
